We are flowers de moon

Featuring the talent and creative energy of Olivia Price and Doug Fraley, flowers de moon combines poetic and mesmerizing vocals with trippy electronic melodies to create a unique sound that is intricate and technical without losing any emotional edge. Their sound transcends classic genre lines, merging indie pop, funk, trip hop, psychedelic, hip hop, and jazz, to make songs that are modern, addictive and groovy.

Vocalist Olivia Price started singing at the early age of 3, performing in choirs for 9 years, and picking up guitar on the way. Producer Doug Fraley began playing drums at age 10, delving into jazz, hardcore, funk rock, mallet instruments and more, before beginning to write and produce his own songs when he was just 14 years old. flowers de moon emerged from Olivia and Doug’s desire to start experimenting with cross-genre songwriting.

Their songs often begin with Doug pulling samples from live jams, fitting them into an entirely new beat immersed in a fresh stylistic context, before building a basic song structure around it. The two collaborate on melodic ideas, with Olivia fleshing out the full vocal lines and writing fitting lyrics. Olivia cites the unconventional writing of Elena Tonra and Yowler as influences, while Doug takes groove cues from Badbadnotgood and inspiration from Grimes’ all-encompassing productions.

Olivia and Doug have channeled their past musical experiences, present personal issues and creative influences in the making of their debut ~ flowers de moon EP
